The 2025 stage musical adaptation of Tatsuya Endô's popular manga SPY×FAMILY is set to stream outside Japan with English subtitles, marking a significant milestone for the production. This announcement comes as a paid archive stream, offering fans worldwide an opportunity to experience the musical's performances. The stream is available on KKTIX, a Taiwan-based ticketing platform, priced at 1,250 new Taiwan dollars for both the July 6 performance and the replay period from July 7-20. Importantly, this stream is not accessible in Japan.
The musical's success is evident in its returning cast members, including Win Morisaki as Loid and Fuka Yuduki as Yor. Kento Kiuchi, who previously stepped in for Genki Hirakata due to health issues, will once again take on the role of the second actor for Loid. Additionally, Kiho Maaya will replace Sora Kazuki as the second actress for Yor. The cast also features Tōru Isono as Keith Kepler, Hitomi Arisa as Olka Gretcher, Kazuya Naraki as Zeb, Keigo Yoshino as Matthew McMahon, and Manato Asaka and Haruka Manase as Sylvia Sherwood.
Auditions were held for the role of Anya Forger, and the new stage play will feature child actresses Rana Izutani, Kanau Kozano, and Reika Mano. Shuhei Kamimura, known for his musical direction, will compose, arrange, and direct the music. G2 is credited with the direction, script, and lyrics.
This marks the second stage musical adaptation of SPY×FAMILY, following the first run in March-May 2023. The sequel, SPY×FAMILY 2: Bakudan Inu-hen & Gòka Kyakusen-hen, is set to premiere in September 2026, with a preview run in Saitama and subsequent performances in Tokyo, Fukuoka, Hyogo, Nagoya, and Yamagata. The musical's popularity and impact on the anime and manga industry are undeniable, with the manga itself being simulpublished in English and widely available in print and digital formats.
